I need a working 32 bit Windows10 driver for the ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 on a Samsung X60 Laptop, 4GB RAM 120GB SSD, works fine with Win7.Seems there are a lot of requests for this driver for a variety of laptops. Can we expect MS to provide a working driver for this graphics card? This has been a long running problem, but, after talking to a Rep at Samsung, I do remember that some of the laptops with this graphics processor also have a primary graphics processor that is not made by ATI.Is yours one of those with dual graphics? If so, try to get one that is at least windows 8.1 compatible.

Hi, my problem is so strange because is a problem that I've encountered in the last week. I format my pc and then I reinstall Windows 7 Beta. Well, every time I've done, Win7 automatically recognised my video driver and download the driver in the first Windows Update after I connect on my wireless. Now, it doesn't done this, and it have only 'Standard VGA Graphic Adapter'. The strangeness is that I can always install the correct driver on my pc and now I can't. It seems that the Microsoft have to inhibit this driver.

P.S.: I don't know if it's a case, but now my pc not bipping more. Hello,Drivers on the Windows Update site are directly provided by hardware manufacturers. Microsoft tests drivers in various environments before they are published. However, we cannot guarantee all drivers will work on all hardware platforms as there are too many different models, although their hardware ID are the same as the standard version. In some cases, due to hardware modifications by different manufacturers, the driver updates may cause some error. For your current situation, you might roll back driver or system-restore the computer to the point before the problem occurredHope the information helps you!Andy.

Hello, This is a compatibility problem. You should go to ATI website to download the right driver for this card and install it in compatibility mode for the OS XP? Here is an explanation you could read (translation available) about the projects of ATI (fr) or elsewhere in the web I hope this helps.

Hi, I think it can helps me, also it's a very good news that I can install the latest driver without problem, but I want to know why a week ago it update with Windows Update, and now this update disappeared. I think is so comfortable, but only a problem could be.

My is an ATI Mobility X1400, not HD. After I download it, I try this and I write down. P.S.:Waiting for an explanation about the disappearing of the driver from Windows Update. Update: The driver linked by you doesn't works (it doesn't recognised my X1400 because is only for HD2XXX, HD3XXX and HD4XXX). I downloaded and installed mobility radeon for XP, but it appears broken, in fact the resolution of screen is at the minimum, and there is a '!' On the driver. For now the only way is download the driver for Vista from Dell website, but the question remains: 'Why the driver disappeared?'

Hi, In your first post you didn't say 'this update has disappeared' first. Then it may be impossible for Windows update to give you satisfaction this time due to a problem of compatibility.

This link: give you an information but you can download the right driver elsewhere. Therefore, if I've understand, the driver is temporarily removed due to a problem of compatibility, but after, when the problem is solved, they place again the driver in Windows Update, right? However, the solution you give me is that I've to install Vista driver for my video adapter downloaded from my laptop vendor site, ie Dell for me, and stay with it? Before is very very comfort, I've only to connect to my wireless, and the driver is all installed. I hope Microsoft and ATI find a solution to this problem. I consider my laptop not to old, no support to my video adapter is a bad news. Hey, 'but after, when the problem is solved, they place again the driver in Windows Update, right?' I'm not sure of that!

You do read some news about the battle ATI first. What you say in English 'Cross Finger somethin' but I doubt. Sorry. Thanks ptiote, now I've understand well. But a doubt remain in me. Why microsoft integrated in Windows Vista native driver for my video adapter and now it can't? I think is right for x64, but for x86, a pc build for Vista must work with win7, indeed people like me should have the possibility to change his OS in the easy way possible. I really hope microsoft can 'win this battle' before the exit of RC.

However, do you know I must do after the registration to connect for receive an invitation? This is a compatibility problem. You should go to ATI website to download the right driver for this card and install it in compatibility mode for the OS XP?FYI, you cannot download the Mobility Radeon drivers from ATI. You have to download the desktop Radeon drivers from ATI and mod them to work with the Mobility Radeon GPU's in a laptop. Has the modding tool, which is a free download. I did this recently, successfully, with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 in a T42 ThinkPad.

Hi, I've tested this some times ago, but for some reasons I choose the 'official' driver for xp and the vendor driver for vista. However I prefer the DNA drivers, it just patched and works well. So, the problem isn't the latest driver because I don't need to play to recent games, but the lack of certified driver for win7, when for windows vista are ready in the installation dvd. It's a step back in the way I see it. Go to ATI's website, download ATI Catalyst 9.3, I believe that they are at 9.4 right now, but you can still download 9.3, It is the final driver for DX9 cards such as yours, but it has Win7 support and x1400 support as well as many more mobility and DX9 cards. PS, also not need to mod the driver for mobility support for either Vista or Win7, possibly even XP, but I never tested in XP Sorry, but the situation for the Mobility Radeon 9YYY, XYYY and X1YYYY (the Y are casual number, X is the series) are different. You can read about here: In fact if I try to execute the Catalyst 9.3 with a card same to mine, the installation blocks.

Dang, ya it didn't install the driver, works for Vista, not win7, even though it is a win7 driver. But since I am doing this for testing purposes I decided to try the mobility modder (to mod the driver) but still no luck. Then I tried compatability mode knowing it does install for vista, This time it installed everything but the driver.

Driver failed! But not to just quit I went to device manager, selected the display adapter, selected properties - update driver - Browse my computer for updated software - Let me pick from a list - Unchecked 'show compatible hardware' - Found ATI X1300 (pretty similar) and installed.

Went from an experience index of 1.0 to 3.7 overall graphics and 3.6 Gaming graphics on the index. Will keep experimenting and report back. Too bad I overwrote the disk I originally used for Win7 to upgrade through Windows Update, I could have probably found the driver on the disk and zipped it up for you. Sorry but the x1300 driver seems to work pretty good and now I have a decent graphics score and the aero glass windows. Will keep experimenting and report backI see the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (note Mobility) in the signed driver list, following your method as above. I did install the Full Driver Suite and mod it, so maybe that is why. I have the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600, so I have no interest in installing the driver for the X1400. Note that when I installed the modded Full Driver Suite from ATI, I had turned UAC off until I was done and had rebooted.

I had UAC turned off when I modded the ATI driver as per the instructions from Mobility Modder. I never had to use Compatibilty Mode, and I received no errors. I have the correct driver installed for my GPU, and my Experience Index is 2.0 for Graphics (I have a earlier version GPU than you do). The Experience Index in Windows 7 and Vista are the same for me. Yes, I have been trying the modded installer. Setup keeps attempting to install the drivers from 9.3 suite, as it successfully does in Vista without even modding the driver but the driver installation has been continuously failing.

Every other component installs. The MS supplied drivers seem to work so far and since the driver installation fails x1400 has not shown, nor any other AMD supplied driver using that method. At least so far, but I am still experimenting. I suspected that the driver supports x1400 from the beginning since it insalls and works flawlessly in Vista. Thanks for the input The error message I get in windows 7 isError messagesDriver Install: the driver package does not specify a hardware identifier.
